Inspired by the Flint Water Crisis of 2014, the goal of FINE-Health is to reduce the impact of environmental toxins on the Flint community. Studies have suggested that certain toxins found in plastics, household products, beauty aids, as well as the soil, air, and water, can be strong contributing factors to the development of chronic diseases, and many urban communities bear the burden. Rather than emphasizing simply sugar reduction, our first project will be focusing on the role of non-persistent toxins and their effects on diabetes and the human body.
Our Mission
-
EDUCATE: Teach the significance of non-persistent* toxins and their relationship with diabetes.
-
ASSIST: Provide tools to detoxify and heal the body.
-
SUPPORT: Help reduce future/recurring exposures in our homes and communities.
